Community engagement for the Corporate Plan 2026–2031 was conducted between 20 October and 7 December 2025 through multiple channels. Presented within the briefing are the findings from the community engagement and recommendations on priority outcomes for the 2026-2031 Corporate Plan.

This report provides key information regarding a petition submitted to Council in August 2025 by the Ipswich Climate Action Group (ICAG). At Council meeting on
2 December 2025, Council resolved that the officer report presented to the Environment and Sustainability Committee No. 2025(11) of 2 December 2025 be referred to a future councillor briefing / workshop for discussion.
The petition called upon Ipswich City Council to:
1. Declare a Climate Emergency
2. Achieve a net zero emissions across all Council operations by 2030.
3. Establish a community-council partnership to support a sustainable and liveable future.

Ipswich City Council is committed to strengthening its public art program by overseeing a consistent and accountable approach to commissioning, acquisition, and management of public art in the Ipswich local government area.
