Nerima Gardens Pathway Shelters
Description
Ipswich City Council are planning to complete upgrade and enhancement at Nerima Gardens with new shelters. The new shelters aim to enhance the gardens and improve visitor comfort by providing a greater level of protection during periods of increased flying fox activity. The new assets will maintain the Japanese design philosophy while using materials suited to the local environment.
Status
Construction is anticipated to commence in the 2026-2027 financial year.
What to expect
Increase in noise, changed traffic conditions, temporary footpath closures, pedestrian detours and installation of safety fencing.
