Blackstone Road - Drainage Rehabilitation
Description
Council is upgrading the existing stormwater network on the southern side of the road between 101 to 117 Blackstone Road, Silkstone.
Status
Construction will commence from 1 June 2026 and will take approximatley 6 weeks to complete, weather and site conditions permitting. Works will be undertaken during the day between 9am and 7pm, Monday to Friday. To facilitate the works, a temporary closure of the westbound traffic lane on Blackstone Road will be in place during work hours.
What to expect
Increase of noise from machinery. Westbound traffic lane closure between the South Station Road intersection and Grange Road. Temporary detours. Temporary access changes to neighbouring side streets. Traffic control will be on site to direct motorists and pedestrians through the area.
