Paving the way for a smoother ride in Booval
Before and after: Cole Street Booval between Brisbane Road and Glebe Road
Busy street gets the full upgrade treatment
Motorists using Cole Street Booval between Brisbane Road and Glebe Road will notice a much smoother ride with the completion of a major road pavement replacement project last month.
Works were undertaken between September and December 2018. Part of the Cole Street project also took place directly in front of Bindarra Day Care Centre. A very young audience watched keenly as the project unfolded.
Bindarra’s Kathy Winter said notifications from council staff, the helpfulness and friendliness to everyone who needed to cross the road to Bindarra had been awesome.
“We would like to give a huge thanks to Ipswich City Council staff who worked on Cole Street.
“The understanding of the children’s excitement of having all the large equipment right at their doorstep was great.”
Council also worked closely with management of Booval Fair Shopping Centre to minimise any disruption for deliveries and customers.
The completed work included:
• Removal and replacement of road pavement kerb to kerb
• Removal and reconstruction of kerb and channel both sides of the road
• Removal and reconstruction of the footpath
• All new line marking
Council funded the Cole Street rehabilitation project with a budget of $1.5 million.
