Ipswich City Council support for Ripley Valley Synthetic Athletics Track
A. That the Ipswich City Council formally endorse the Providence Athletics proposal for a Synthetic Athletics Track at Ripley Valley State Secondary College as put forward in their Games On! Partnership Fund application.
B. That council commit $2.5 Million to a co-contribution subject to an agreement being reached between Ipswich City Council and the Department of Education to ensure community use of the proposed facility.
C. That the Council Chief Executive Officer provide a letter of support forthwith to Providence Athletics for their Games On! Partnership Fund application for a synthetic athletics track at Ripley Valley State Secondary College.
C ouncillor David Martin proposed an amendment to Recommendation B.
B. That council commit up to $2.5 Million to a co- contribution subject to an agreement being reached between Ipswich City Council and the Department of Education to ensure community use of the proposed facility.
The mover and seconder agreed to the amendment.
After discussion and information provided by the General Manager Community, Cultural and Economic Development and the Chief Executive Officer, the Deputy Mayor Nicole Jonic (Chairperson) proposed that the motion reverts to the original motion.
