This is a report concerning the proposed new Trustee Lease over part of land located at 73 Edmond Street, Marburg described as Lease B in Lot 388 on Crown Plan CC693 on SP307621, between Ipswich City Council as Trustee (Council) of the land to Rosewood Scrub Historical Society Inc (Society).

A report is under preparation with a recommendation that Council terminate the existing Maintenance Deed with the Society and enter into a Trustee Lease to ensure that Council complies with its obligations as Trustee under the Land Act 1994 . It is proposed that Council enter into Trustee Lease for a term of five (5) years with the Society over part of the Trust Land, at the existing rent amount of Nil.

It will also be recommended that Council apply the exceptions under the Local Government Regulation 2012 to enter into a lease with a community organisation and without going to tender or auction. The new lease between Council and with the Rosewood Scrub Historical Society Inc. over 73 Edmond Street, Marburg will outline maintenance responsibilities by Council and the Society .

The Trustee Lease must have the Mandatory Standard Terms Document 711932933 attached and must satisfy all requirements of the Land Act 1994, the Land Regulations 2009 and the State’s Operational Policy - Secondary Use of Trust Land.

This is a report concerning the proposed renewal of Lease over part of land located at 56 Harold Summervilles Road, Karalee described as Lease D in Lot 1 on RP170788 on SP216939 between Ipswich City Council (Council) to Playgroup Queensland Ltd (PQL).

It is recommended that Council apply the exceptions under the Local Government Regulation 2012 to enter into a lease with a community organisation without the need to tender or auction. The new lease between Council and PQL over

56 Harold Summervilles Road, Karalee will outline maintenance responsibilities by Council and PQL .

MATTERS ARISING

Councillors asked questions about the use of the facilities and how needs of the community were assessed and delivered, together with due diligence considerations. General Manager Community, Cultural and Economic Development to provide information to the Councillors regarding the details of the use at the above property including what services are provided, how often the facility is used, is it exclusive use, and what programs are conducted from the facility.

5. Community Vision/Corporate Plan Project Update - 15 September 2020

The purpose of this briefing session is to provide the Mayor and Councillors and ELT with an update of:

· Community Vision Workshop Outcomes (Council workshop, Community Reference Groups, Murri Interagency Working group, Ipswich Youth Advisory Council);

· The draft community vision statement and themes that will be released for community-wide engagement in the coming weeks and the modes of engagement that will be occurring;

· The Councillor Engagement Kits: what’s included and how to access them;

· Next Steps including Mayor and Councillor Monthly updates.

The briefing session will be facilitated by Candice Johns (Project Lead) and Melanie Rippon (Community Engagement Lead).

Performance Manager to provide updates to Councillors on the Corporate Plan on a regular basis.
