Council’s existing CEO Annual Performance Appraisal Policy is due for review and is proposed to be broadened to include recruitment and appointment, alongside performance appraisal, to ensure legislative compliance and strengthen governance. Supporting guidelines will provide detailed procedural clarity, reducing ambiguity and enhancing transparency. This update aligns with sector best practice and positions Council to manage CEO appointment, performance, and contract processes consistently and effectively.

The Active City Policy was adopted to guide Council’s approach to promoting active lifestyles and participation in physical activity across the community. The Policy reached its mandated review date in December 2023, triggering a comprehensive review to assess its relevance and alignment with current strategic directions.

This report details the outcome of the standard four year review cycle for the Provision of Information to Law Enforcement Agencies Policy.

In 2025, the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) communicated to local authorities and directly to Ipswich City Council in relation to a review and further development of our Local Resilience Action Plans (LRAP).
Ipswich City Council at this time did not have a formal LRAP in place and was encouraged to formalise a plan with a focus on an initial list of projects to further develop and evolve the plan over time. A simplified template was provided by QRA to populate with a focus on distinct, feasible and fundable projects The required timeframe to submit the completed plan is by 30 June 2026.
The presentation of the Ipswich City Council’s proposed LRAP to the Mayor and Councillors is part of this process of engagement to finalise and submit this plan to the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA).

Councillors in attendance noted and discussed the information presented on the Proposed Local Resilience Action Plan (LRAP).
Next steps are to undertake a final review of the plan in preparation to submit to the Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA) by 30 June 2026, and to continue stakeholder engagement across Council to ensure inclusion of additional projects on the LRAP as regular reviews occur.
