2. Strategic Roads Workshop

This is a report concerning a Council resolution to workshop a proposal to consider the transfer of several Council strategic roads to the State Government.

This report discusses the opportunities and implications of Council seeking to transfer roads to become state owned and controlled. Council officers have reviewed the roads proposed to be transferred to the state and have also undertaken a review of the City’s road network entirely.

3. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Engagement Guide - approach to establishing representative engagement groups

Following endorsement of Council’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Engagement Guide in December 2024, and approved budget allocation for FY2025-2026, the next step is to establish the Representative Engagement Groups identified in the Engagement Guide. This briefing provides an overview of the proposed approach, timings, and draft Terms of Reference for each Group.

4. Proposed Disposal of Surplus Land/Property

This briefing is to address proposed disposals of Council-owned land and property assets. Following a review of the Program 43 (Corporate Services) portfolio sites were identified as surplus to Council requirements. It is proposed to put forward a report at September 2025 Finance and Governance Committee to seek a decision of Council for the proposed disposals.

5. Update on land acquisition requirements for Ripley Road Upgrade Stage 2 and 3

This briefing is concerning the land requirements to facilitate the Ripley and Fischer Road Upgrade project, specifically Stages 2 and 3. Since the initial report to Council in October 2024, the project design has progressed to 100% detailed design and though the overall alignment remains the same, there have been changes to the areas of interest in land to be acquired.
