1. Organisational Realignment

It is proposed to introduce a standalone Environment and Sustainability Department by realigning functions in the present Infrastructure and Environment Department (IED). At the same time. It is proposed that the three (3) sections currently forming the Coordination and Performance Department (CPD) transfer to other parts of the business, removing CPD from the council structure. This will result in council retaining five (5) departments across its structure .

MATTERS ARISING:

Councillors in attendance provided feedback to the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Corporate Services on the organisational realignment and requested an additional workshop with a more detailed organisational structure and financial implications for further discussion.

2. Ipswich Rosewood Coal Miners Memorial - Proposed Rectification Works

This report provides information on the Ipswich Rosewood Coal Miners Memorial (the memorial) located on the northeast corner within Limestone Park, Ipswich. For a number of years community members have been raising concerns with errors on some of the names, dates and ages of death on the memorial. Council continues to receive requests to rectify the suggested errors and further guidance is required as to how Council should proceed with the ongoing community concerns.

3. Update on Ripley Road Catalyst Infrastructure Fund

Council in September 2022 resolved to make a submission to Economic Development Queensland to access the Catalyst Infrastructure Fund to assist in funding the construction of Ripley Road, Ripley.

Officers have been advised that Council has been successful with its submission.

It is expected that formal advice will be received by 27 th January 2023.

The material will be circulated to Council upon receipt for discussion at the Workshop.

Councillor Doyle returned to the meeting at 10.56 am.

The meeting adjourned at 12.17 pm.

The meeting reconvened at 1.20 pm with all councillors in attendance except for Councillor Fechner.

Councillor Fechner returned to the meeting at 2.06 pm.

The meeting closed at 2.22 pm.
