2.1. Matter on Notice – launching of a new App for the active and healthy program

Mayor Teresa Harding queried one of the key initiatives of the Active and Healthy Program in relation to the launching of a new app for customers to view what the Active and Healthy Program provides and requested information on the app development and whether the development of this app is being done in consultation with Council’s IT area.

That the Chief Executive Officer provide a response back to the Community, Culture, Arts and Sport Committee on the development of the Active and Healthy Program App and in particular advice from Council’s Chief Information Officer.

3. Major Community Event Sponsorship Application: Celebrate '24 at the Tivoli Drive-In

This is a report concerning an event sponsorship application by Tivoli Social Enterprises Limited for $25,000 ex GST support of Celebrate ’24! at the Tivoli Drive-In, Sunday 31 December 2023.

RECOMMENDATION

Seconded by Councillor Marnie Doyle:

That Tivoli Social Enterprises Limited receive $17,500 (ex GST) in Major Community Event Sponsorship for financial support to Tivoli Social Enterprises Limited for the Celebrate ’24! at Tivoli Drive-In New Year’s Eve event.

Mayor Teresa Harding proposed a variation to the motion:

That Tivoli Social Enterprises Limited receive $20,000 (ex GST).

The mover and seconder of the original motion agreed to the proposed variation.

4. Revised Civic and Ceremonial Events Policy

This is a report concerning an update to the Civic and Ceremonial Events Policy to include NAIDOC Week and National Reconciliation Week.

Recommendation

That the Civic and Ceremonial Events Policy be updated to include NAIDOC Week and National Reconciliation Week.

Councillor Andrew Fechner proposed a variation to the motion:

That the revised policy titled ‘Civic and Ceremonial Events Policy’ as detailed in proposed Attachment 4 be adopted.
