Who was seen at the Youth Sustainability Summit
Students from throughout the Ipswich region converged on the Ipswich Civic Centre in August for the annual Youth Sustainability Summit.
They heard ABC television star Costa Georgiadis share his inspiration, learned how to make fashion accessories from industrial discards, and how to build a beach – and that was just before morning tea.
Day 1 of the summit welcomed Years 4 and 5, while the second day brought in Year 7-9 students.
This year’s summit was held in conjunction with Sustainability Week. Hundreds of students were sent away with a richer knowledge of the environment, and some homework – how to make their neighbourhood a better place to live.
