VIDEO: Watch the construction of the library and civic space (centre) and council’s new administration building (lower right) from late October until mid January
New time lapse video shows the rapid construction of the Nicholas St precinct’s redevelopment over the past few months.
Work on the new library is progressing well, with much of the structural steel framework now in place.
The core of the new council administration building has climbed to level two, while concrete has been poured for the building’s basement car park.
There are 115 workers now on site for the redevelopment, with Civic Plaza crews up to their 12 th concrete pour this week.
Other work being done this week includes the installation of scaffolding on the ground level of Bremer Street and the installation of columns on the basement level for reinforcement.
Construction of the precinct is on track, despite some delays caused by rain and hot temperatures.
