Crikey! Robert Irwin teams up with Spicers Hidden Vale
Ipswich’s own Spicers Hidden Vale has featured alongside tourism icon Robert Irwin and a host of tourism operators in a newly released social media video aimed at attracting visitors back to Queensland.
Spicers Hidden Vale opened their newly built Homestead on 14 February.
It included the reopening of Spicer’s popular Homage Restaurant, which was destroyed when fire gutted the homestead in 2018.
The campaign is in response to recent bushfires and the impacts the coronavirus is having on Queensland’s tourism sector.
In the video, operators acknowledge Australia as a whole is hurting and to make sure our tourism industry don’t hurt as well, they are asking Aussie’s to holiday here this year.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said when times get tough, Queenslanders stand together.
“We need to tell Australians that Queensland remains open for business and we need to encourage them to spend their tourist dollars in our state,” she said.
“Robert Irwin is recognisable the world over and a great ambassador for our state and I’m so glad he’s helping get the message out that Queensland is open for business.”
The video also features images from a range of iconic Queensland tourism attractions and businesses including:
