Council backs Ipswich businesses in 2024-2025 Budget

Ipswich’s rapidly growing business community is at the core of the city’s 2024-2025 Annual Plan and Budget.

Economic and Cultural Development Committee Chairperson Councillor Pye Augustine said with Ipswich’s economy having exceeded $13 billion this year, the city’s Economic Development Strategy is making its mark.

“In this 2024-2025 Annual Plan and Budget Council will advance implementation of its Economic Development Strategy and support and enable our local businesses to thrive,” Cr Augustine said.

“Local businesses are absolutely vital in Ipswich – employing more residents, generating more jobs, and continuing to grow our economy at a rate faster than any other south-east Queensland council.

“Council will continue to deliver practical, supportive programs and events for local businesses this year, including our latest initiative, the New Business Breakfast.

“Council is partnering with the Ipswich Region Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce to maximise business engagement and build a connected, thriving economy.

“Council is also supporting our businesses through the Ipswich Central Revitalisation by delivering placemaking programs to improve liveability, implementing recommendations from the Place Plans, and continuing the Frame the Front Door program”.
