1. Legislative Reforms to Official Spokesperson - Media and Corporate Communications Policy

The amended Local Government Act 2009 is now in force and has amended the statutory provisions for the official spokesperson for local governments.

This report seeks Council guidance on a revised Media and Corporate Communications Policy to align with and implement the legislative changes.

This is a recommended action advised by the Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers (DLGW).

MATTERS ARISING:

Councillors in attendance noted, discussed and provided feedback on the information presented on the Legislative Reforms to Official Spokesperson – Media and Corporate Communications Policy and a report will be provided to a Finance and Governance committee for consideration.
