2 . Living in Ipswich - Community Views Survey 2026
This is a report concerning the results of the City of Ipswich Community Views 2026, a community engagement survey undertaken by Informed Decisions.
Recommendation
That the Advocacy Advisory Committee receive and note the City of Ipswich Community Views results for 2026 and the presentation received from Mr Daniel Evans, Chief Executive Officer of id (Informed Decisions).
DISCUSSION
Mr Daniel Evans, Chief Executive Officer of id (Informed Decisions) provided a presentation and breakdown of the community engagement survey results.
3 . Team Attraction Brochure Update
This is a report concerning the Team Attraction Brochure (attached) with an updated version including additions to the sporting venues, strength and conditioning offerings.
Recommendation
That the Advocacy Advisory Committee receive and note the updates to the Team Attraction Brochure.
DISCUSSION
Mayor Harding asked Councillors if there were any other venues or information that should be included in the Team Attraction Brochure.

· Councillor Doyle suggested that the photos for Briggs Road Hockey Field be considered

4 . Federal Budget summary
This is a report concerning a summary of the Federal Budget 2026-2027 handed down on 12 May.
Recommendation
That the Advisory Committee note the Federal Budget measures relevant to local government and the Ipswich region.
DISCUSSION
Mayor Harding noted that in respect of the Federal Budget:
· There was no new Infrastructure investment for Ipswich
· Financial Assistance Grants have fallen to 0.49%
· Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program has stopped
· Thriving Suburbs Program is returning
· With the Local Infrastructure Fund, a quarter of the $2 billion funding pool was specifically dedicated to projects in regional Australia which reduces the pool for suburban, urban and peri-urban funding to $1.5 billion
The Economic Development Manager (Dan Heenan) noted that the Inland Rail project is a key part of the regionally significant project and that as a result of the announcement has done some engagement with the State Government in relation to other pathways for funding infrastructure to bring this online. Meetings were held with various departments last week and the government is interested in forming a working group with council to potentially figure out a pathway for delivering the available infrastructure to activate this space.
In relation to the Advocacy Plan, it was noted that this is scheduled for the 2028 elections and that the list of requests under each Advocacy priority will be refreshed and brought back to the committee for review.
Mayor Harding asked Councillors to continue to advocate for projects with Ministers or Shadow Ministers whenever possible.
5 . Brisbane 2032 update
This is a report concerning an update on preparation in relation to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

That the Advocacy Advisory Committee note the update in relation to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
DISCUSSION
Advocacy Lead (Kate Adams) provided an update on the Six Years to Go Breakfast noting that invitations went out last week and that RSVPs were tracking well. This breakfast will also include procurement opportunities for Ipswich.

The Manager, Community and Cultural Services provide a confidential update to members in relation to the Synthetic Athletics Track.
