1. Ipswich Central Redevelopment Budget/Financials

This is the first of two planned workshops with councillors on the financial components of the Nicholas Street – Ipswich Central redevelopment. The purpose of the workshops is to provide councillors with an overview of the budget development, spend to date and forecast requirements moving forward across the breadth of the project including the precinct’s valuation and future management and operation. As a precursor to the discussion, a summary of the treatment of Ipswich City Properties related costs and related land purchases will be provided.

The focus of the first workshop is an overview of the scheme and the current and planned program of works. Discussion is planned on the Civic and Retail Projects and the leasing program including a review of overall budget, spend to date, the status of the contingency budget, activities still to be undertaken and their cost to complete. Opportunities for further enhancement of the precinct will also be discussed.

The second workshop will focus on the leasing strategy and associated issues and leasing status with Council’s retail and commercial assets.

The supporting information in relation to this matter is confidential as it relates to the local government’s budget and contracts proposed to be made.
