1. Draft Children, Young People AND Families Policy
The purpose of the workshop is to discuss the draft policy and the opportunities around the implementation of the policy once adopted. While Council manages a range of programs and initiatives for children, young people and families, discussion will be held on what other opportunities there are for Council to manage, support and advocate for and the role that Council’s major projects play eg Ipswich Central Redevelopment. Also discussed will be how the policy outcomes will be monitored and how the policy could potentially be launched. It is hoped that the draft policy can be presented to either a Committee or Council meeting in August for adoption as having it adopted later will seriously impact launch opportunities in October (as part of Children’s Week).
