1. DRAFT Community Development Plan 2020-2025

This report presents the draft Community Development Plan 2020-2025 (the Community Development Plan) for the awareness and consideration of Mayor and Councillors.

The objective of this 15 minute briefing is to present the draft Community Development Plan prior to a suggested workshop with the Mayor and Councillors in coming weeks.

The purpose of the briefing is to:

· Advise Mayor and Councillors of the draft Community Development Plan

· Receive any initial feedback from Mayor and Councillors on the process or content

· Request that a Workshop be held with the Mayor and Councillors

2. South East Queensland Koala Conservation Strategy and Koala Habitat Mapping

This briefing concerns the Draft South East Queensland Koala Conservation Strategy 2019-2024 and associated mapping prepared by the Department of Environment and Sciences (DES). The draft strategy has been prepared to conserve and manage suitable habitat, and guide management actions to retain viable koala populations within South East Queensland (SEQ).

MATTERS ARISING

That the Natural Environment and Land Manager and the Team Leader (Strategic Catchment and Conservation Planning) prepare communications for the councillors to share with their constituents on how Council is involved with the South East Queensland Koala Conservation Strategy and Koala Habitat Mapping.

3. Expenditure Lease - Ipswich Hockey Association and Ipswich City Council - Federal Grant for Infrastructure Program

Following a Councillor briefing on 25 June 2020, Council officers met with the Ipswich Hockey Association (IHA) Board Members on 23 July 2020 to discuss appropriate options in order to achieve resolution in this matter. The attached briefing note highlights the issues discussed at the meeting in which Council officers posed a number of possible options to resolve the matter. The IHA were requested to provide a response to the possible options discussed and the attached response was received from the IHA, which indicates no change on the IHA’s position.
