3. Principal Cycle Network
This is a briefing concerning the Principal Cycle Network in Ipswich.
The South East Queensland (SEQ) Principal Cycle Network Plan (PCNP), developed by the state in consultation with local governments across the region, provides the guide for planning and provision of cycling infrastructure.
The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) provides grant funding for cycling infrastructure which aligns with the PCNP. Ipswich City Council (ICC) has been successful in accessing these grants to build key bikeways across our local government area (LGA).
Continued delivery of connected and safe cycling infrastructure will be important for the community and will assist in achieving cycling mode share targets set in iGO.

Council approved a development application over Lot 25 on RP217490 that was subject to multiple road upgrades along Champions Way and Paynes Road, Willowbank. The road upgrades were required to accommodate the increased levels of traffic caused by the development and linkage to major transport routes.
This required road widening on some corners of Champions Way and Paynes Road which impacted on three council owned properties. Council provided landowner consent with the development application to allow the road widening to occur. One of the road widenings impacts on the Queensland Raceway leasehold land described as Lot 11 on SP108209.
