1. Southern Resource Recovery Centre Update
A key deliverable in City of Ipswich’s Resource Recovery Infrastructure Plan is the delivery of a new Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) in the southern suburbs of Ipswich. The delivery of the Southern Resource Recovery Centre (SRRC) project will ensure the city can cater for the significant growth expected in population and the demand from residents for resource recovery and waste services.

This briefing provides an update on SRRC project activities completed in 2024-2025 and activities that are currently underway along with information on the changes to the SRRC layout that are being explored with consideration of the findings of the March to June 2025 geotechnical investigation.
