3. Voluntary Home Buy Back Potential Future Use of Land - Community Engagement and Planning

Under the Resilient Homes Fund Voluntary Home Buy-back Program, Ipswich has purchased 204 properties across Ipswich (not including two (2) pending properties to be purchased under compulsory acquisition). With the acquisition of properties under the Fund, Ipswich City Council is responsible for the management of over 500,000m2 of non-habitable rezoned land (greenspace).

Ipswich City Council has undertaken community engagement to understand and identify potential future use options for this land that could benefit Ipswich, the community and Council moving forward.

The purpose of this briefing is to provide Councillors with an update on community feedback received, discuss potential options identified; and next steps to finalise the community engagement report and plan for potential future use options.
