This is a report concerning the City of Ipswich Transport Plan (iGO) major review project, covering the topic of strategy finalisation. This report focuses on the draft strategic directions and community consultation feedback received from Part C of the project and as part of the final Councillor Working Group, aims to seek input into the project.
MATTERS ARISING:
Councillors in attendance noted and discussed the information presented on the iGO Ipswich Transport Strategy – Councillor Working Group 3 report.
Councillors provided feedback on the strategy which included: consultation, existing road congestion, access to public transport, bus and train connections, peak hour public transport, upgrading of bus stops, cycleways, footpaths and working relations with State and Federal levels of government.

On 13 December 2024, Council received minor change application number 5201/2021/MAMC/A. The application relates to 11 & 27 Nicholas Street, Ipswich, both of which are Council owned properties that form part of the Nicholas Street Precinct (NSP).
The minor change application seeks to amend one (1) condition and three (3) approved plans that form part of development application 5201/2021/RAL, which was approved by Council on 8 July 2021 at the Growth, Infrastructure and Waste Committee meeting.
The purpose of this briefing session is to discuss the minor change application, answer any questions that the Mayor and Councillors may have in relation to the original application and explain why Council officer believe that the proposed changes are considered to be minor in nature.
