2. Citywide FOGO Kerbside Collection Service Update

This is a report to provide Councillors with an update concerning the expansion of the core kerbside collection service to a 3-bin system, including a Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) bin as presented to Growth Infrastructure and Waste Committee on 11 May 2023 .

MATTERS ARISING:

Councillors in attendance noted and discussed the information presented on the update of the Citywide FOGO Kerbside Collection Service.

Resource Recovery Manager to provide a report to council regarding the implementation of a communications package on the expansion of the core kerbside collection service to a 3 bin service.

This briefing is in response to Recommendation B from a report presented to Environment and Sustainability Committee on 9 November 2023 regarding the Enviroplan Levy Progress Report 2022-2023. Recommendation B was:

That Council receive a briefing on the Enviroplan Levy funds at a future briefing and workshop session no later than February 2024.

Councillors in attendance noted and discussed the information presented on the Ipswich Enviroplan Strategic Business Plan with priorities focusing on seeking and acquiring denuded land, and better maintaining existing land.

The meeting commenced at 9.12 am.

Deputy Mayor Milligan arrived at the meeting at 9.14 am.

Councillor Kunzelmann arrived at the meeting at 9.38 am.

Councillor Madsen left the meeting at 10.11 am.

The meeting adjourned at 10.31 am.

The meeting reconvened at 11.05 am with all Councillors in attendance except for Councillors Doyle and Madsen.

Councillor Doyle returned to the meeting at 11.12 am.

Councillor Madsen returned to the meeting at 11.13 am.

The meeting closed at 11.22 am.
