The Media Policy Workshop provides an opportunity for the current Media Policy to be discussed with further consideration of options provided in the External Communications Policy (DRAFT).

This session is intended to give a detailed update and provide discussion and possible workshopping opportunities for the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councillors.

On 3 December 2020, Council resolved to adopt the ‘Waste and Circular Economy Transformation Directive’ (the Directive) which prioritises the protection of the health and wellbeing of our community and environment, liveability of our city, and future vibrancy of our economy.

The role of Waste and Circular Economy Transformation Manager has now been in place for 6 months. This session is intended to give a detailed update and provide discussion and possible workshopping opportunities for the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councillors.

MATTERS ARISING:

Councillors questioned if some of this information could be shared with the Elected Representatives Working Group.

Waste and Circular Economy Transformation Manager to investigate and advise Councillors of what information from the program can be shared with the working group.

2.44 pm Deputy Mayor Nicole Jonic and Councillors Andrew Fechner and Jacob Madsen left the meeting.

Deputy Mayor Jonic and Councillor Fechner were not present for Item 3.

Councillor Jacob Madsen was not present for the commencement of Item 3.

3. IDRP briefing - 5636/2021/MCU Child Care Centre - 54-56 Arthur Summervilles Road, Karalee

Council will soon be required to make a decision on the application 5636/2021/MCU for a Child Care Centre at 54-56 Arthur Summervilles Road, Karalee. Due to the number of submissions received during the public notification period, the application and officer’s recommendation will be required to be reviewed by the Independent Decision Review Panel, which will include a public hearing component.

MATTERS ARISING:

Development Planning Manager to provide Councillors with a copy of the letter that will be sent to the submitters for the application, along with the media release that will be published for this application.
